Behind The Artist

I should start with my name, Corrie Green! Named after the young son, Cory, in the 1960's TV show Julia.  While I spend a ton of time on the stage, (likely why you have clicked onto this website) I thought you might want to know a little about who I am and not who I have played.

I was born and raised in Arkansas! Sherwood, AR to be exact but I usually just say Little Rock in order to avoid having to attempt reciting the map for strangers. I was raised in a hodgepodge of different cultures, black, white,  Mormon, southern, et. all. It all lends itself to a plethora of mental issues that can be dissected by my therapist, and some really vibrant "creative" thoughts.  Having watched my peers struggle with the systemic issues faced by our community, my goals became clear from a young age.  I have devoted my career to the empowerment of my community and to bring awareness/fight the inequalities faced by our BIPOC family. I choose to challenge the norm and create space ,if not for myself, for everyone to whom space has been denied for centuries.

Like most actors I have done a plethora of "Day Jobs"  between acting gigs! Most of that work has been in the Museum Education field! I spent a little over 3 years as an educator at The Museum of Discovery in Little Rock, AR. During my time there I was able to engage with the youth through Science Experiment Shows, Tesla Coil shows, teaching and working with animal ambassadors (opossums, snakes, turtles, lizards, chickens, you name it) and done outreach for youth in our state. I also spent some time doing education work for The Clinton Presidential Center's Education Department.  Of course learning how to safely light your hand on fire is probably the true highlight!

In 2022 I married Josh Moody , a Traumatic Brain Injury survivor, quite handsome as well.  Prior to meeting Josh was in a horrific accident in 2017, ultimately almost killing him and changing his whole life. Everyday we strive to experience each moment for its entirety, as we both know our fate is undecided. Of course we can only do this with the help of Sir Jack Dawson, our beagle-ish/hound-ish psycho of a dog.

While there is an entire 27 years I could tell you about, I will sum it up with a quote that I have lived by since finding it on Myspace as a child.

"I wish I were a glowworm, a glowworm is never glum.  'Cause how can you be happy when the sun shines out your bum." - Someone On Myspace
